EFT
is most effective with anxiety disorders, depression, and many of the
emotional difficulties of every day life from unwarranted fears and anger to
excessive feelings of guilt, shame, grief, guilt, phobias, jealousy or
rejection, and even lack of libido. And the treatment is rapid, potent
and lasting.
Since
the 1980's Western mental health practitioners have been developing
protocols for applying the principles of acupuncture to psychological
issues. The energy system can be accessed with the appropriate
keys. It is system of meridians used in acupuncture, or energy
pathways in your body.
Acupuncture
points can be stimulated by tapping on the surface of the skin to produce
therapeutic outcomes. Because the stimulation of these points produces
physical change by altering the body's electrical activity, the various
mental health protocols are known collectively as "energy
psychology." This includes Emotional Freedom Techniques or
EFT. Getting touch with this system can align your energy so that it
runs smoothly, without any disruption within you.
The
ability to smooth out htis electromagnetic energy will open you to healing
your emotions, your thoughts, your body and your soul.
EFT
combines the stimulation of a particular electromagnetically responsive area
on the surface of the skin with methods of Cognitive Behavior Therapy,
including the use of imagery, self-statements and distress ratings (on a
scale of 110 how intense are your feelings?).
The
Association for Comprehensive Energy Psychology has more than 600
professional members (psychologists and Ph.D's.) who have found that,
however mysterious the mechanisms of change, this approach can yield surprisingly
powerful results with certain problems.
Tapping
specific points on the skin while mentally activating a dysfunctional
emotional response works by producing neurological shifts in the brain,
functioning much the same way as neurofeedback training. EFT is
increasingly used for problems ranging from learning disabilities to anxiety
disorders, phobias, depression and addiction. Both feedback and EFT
have been shown to bring about changes in brain wave patterns, and these
changes correspond with a reduction of symptoms.
Research
studies have shown that acupuncture points are more electrically responsive
than other areas of the skin. They also have a higher concentration of
receptors sensitive to mechanical stimulation.
